What causes black under eyes?

Black under the eyes are dark circles under the eyes. Sometimes, what appear to be dark circles under your eyes may merely be shadows cast by puffy eyelids or hollows under your eyes that develop as a normal part of aging. Dark circles under the eyes usually aren't a medical problem.

There are many reasons for this problem:

1-Lack of sleep:

When you don't get enough restorative sleep at night, your blood vessels dilate. This causes an increase in blood flow, and since the skin under your eyes is thinner, the dark tint caused by the increased volume of blood is more noticeable here. In other words, sleep deprivation causes dark circles

2-Age

Natural aging is another common reason for dark circles beneath your eyes.

3-Eyestrain

Staring at your television or computer screen may cause dark under eyes. This strain can enlarge the blood vessels around your eyes. As a result, the skin surrounding your eyes can darken.

4-Stree

When you're stressed, blood is provided to other parts of your body, barring the face, which makes it look very pale. This causes the blood vessels underneath your eye to be more apparent, eventually giving birth to dark circles.

5-Dehydration

Dehydration is a common cause of dark circles under your eyes. When your body is not well hydrated, the skin beneath your eyes begins to look dull and your eyes look sunken.

6-Sun overexposure

Sun exposure can cause your body to produce an excess of melanin, the pigment that gives your skin color.

7-Genetics

Family history also plays a part in developing dark circles under your eyes. It can be an inherited trait seen early in childhood.

8-Anemia

Anemia is when your levels of red blood cells are lower than normal.

Treatments

  • Stay hydrated. fluids can also help keep you hydrated, including water, milk, tea, and juices. Eating fruits and vegetables also adds to your overall fluid intake.

  • Aloe vera is a tropical plant that's often used as a natural remedy for dark circles. Although more research in humans is needed, it may improve skin moisture, support mature skin, and reduce inflammation, all of which may help treat dark circles.
